Join #LitChat on August 19, 2015 for Writing Wednesday with @JudahFreed. We’re talking about issues with promoting books on social media. Follow #LitChat on Twitter, or login to our dedicated channel at My Book

How do readers respond to the social media marketing methods being used by most authors and publishers? How can authors and publishers promote their books with more effectiveness and greater class on social media? Are too many book promotions campaigns missing the mark, and why? We will explore these questions and hopefully find some answers on #LitChat this Wednesday, August 19, 4 p.m. E.T.

All those who care about books and reading are invited to join #LitChat for one hour on Wednesday to talk about the state-of-the art for book promotions on social media. Special invitations are going out to established and newbie authors, traditional and independent book publishers, plus book marketing and publicity experts.

Most of all, we wish to hear from readers! What kinds of marketing turns you on, and what turns you off? What attracts you? What repels you? Wednesday’s #LitChat may be one of your best chances in ages to say what does and does not work for you.

This discussion on LitChat this week is being moderated by author Judah Freed (@judahfreed). He is an active member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) and the founder of the Kauai Independent Authors and Publishers Association (KIAPA). He previously founded and directed the 900-member Denver Book Club. He also served as the president of the Colorado Authors League and trade shows chair or the Colorado Independent Publishers Association. Judah has talked about his own books on dozens of local to national radio and TV shows, including C-SPAN BookTV. Judah moderates #LitChat on the first and third Wednesday of every month. He will be moderating the #LitChat conversation during Banned Books Week in September.

Below are links to some of the experts influencing how books are marketed today. Do you agree or disagree with the social media strategies they promote?

Please join us for an exciting hour on #LitChat this Wednesday, August 19, at 4pmET.
