Last week literary stateswoman Joyce Carol Oates took to Twitter to inspire writers with “10 Writing Tips.” Some of the tips were elementary and non-specific, such as “Write your heart out,” which occupies Tip No. 1 as well as No. 10. Others offered specific guidance such as Tip No. 6: “Unless you are experimenting with form–gnarled, snarled & obscure–be alert for possibilities of paragraphing.”

This week in #LitChat Writing Wednesday, we’ll discuss Oates’ “10 Writing Tips” and how they might inform our current work.
