Jacqueline Lichtenberg is no stranger to #litchat. She’s been a stalwart supporter since its beginning in 2009 and through her succinct and insightful contributions to the topical conversations, she’s helped dozens of writers grasp critical tools of fiction writing. This week in WritingWednesday, Lichtenberg will discuss the combining worlds of fiction and gaming.

Lichtenberg is currently operating a Kickstarter to raise funds for Amborv X, an online role-playing game based on her wildly successful Sime-Gen universe (created along with co-author Jean Lorrah).

Set in the award winning Sime~Gen universe, Ambrov X casts players in a far distant future as leaders of an unlikely but elite crew tasked with planting space beacons which allow for faster than light space travel. The Ambrov X saga unfolds into an action-packed story of first contact. Complete with epic battles and emotional decision making, Ambrov X brings to life the single-player, story-driven RPG through a thrilling space opera adventure. Ambrov X is scheduled for a 2015 release on Windows, OS X and Linux. With alternate releases for XBOX, PS4, iOS and Android to be released at a later date. The Ambrov X Kickstarter campaign runs now until October

Lichtenberg is a life member of the Science Fiction Writers of America, and has a vibrant fan following. She’s primary author of the Bantam paperback Star Trek Lives! which blew the lid on Star Trek fandom, founder of the Star Trek Welcommittee, creator of the genre term “Intimate Adventure,” winner of the Galaxy Award for Spirituality in Science Fiction with her second novel, Unto Zeor, Forever, and the first Romantic Times Awards for Best Science Fiction Novel with her later novel Dushau.
